You are cordially invited to attend the 26th anniversary Surf City Open February 1, 2026 at Fountain Valley High School
We have scheduled the event to introduce the competitor to our 2026 SKL state championship series of tournaments. There will be several tournaments throughout California leading to our “California State Championships” where you will earn a seeded position to the USA SKL National Championships held in Las Vegas November 2026. Our goal here at SKL is to provide you, the competitor, the coach, and the spectator an affordable event filled with Integrity, Respect, and Great Competition. As well as a safe, clean environment. I would like to thank each of you for competing, supporting, and working together to make the last 26 year’s of this tournament a success. Our event this year we will holding the event at the Fountain Valley High School, gymnasium. located at 17816 Bushard St, Fountain Valley, CA 92708. Doors will open at 8:00 AM and competition will start at 9 am sharp This years event will be using a fully automated system created by MyImartial and newly redesigned by Martialogic, software for “Smarter Martial Arts” the innovators in event management systems since 2003. So get online, become a registered competitor, register for the upcoming event. Then relax and enjoy a great martial arts experience. Then start asking other promotors why they don’t have Martialogic at their events.

- $45.00 1st Division & $25.00 Each Additional – By December 15, 2025
- $55.00 1st Division & $35.00 Each Additional – By January 28, 2026

- $65.00 1st Division & $40.00 Each Additional – After January 28, 2026
- Spectators:
- $15.00 per person – Pre-registration by January 28,2026
- $20.00 per person– After January 28 / Day of Event
- (5 years and under & 60 year and over free)
- CASH ONLY ACCEPTED THE DAY OF THE EVENT – NO REFUNDS
- Grand Championships & Awards:
- Surf City Patches for all pre registered competitors
- Black Belt Jr. & Adult Forms, Weapons, earn a Custom Award
- Sparring Adult Male and female earn $200 sponsored by Martial Logic
- Under belt Grand Champions earn Custom Trophy’s
- 11 & under Forms & Weapons Separate Grands for Beg Int and Adv
- 12 to 17 Forms & Weapons Separate Grands for Beg Int and Adv
- 12 Under Belt Grands in ALL
- Rules:
- SKL regional rules will be exclusively used. Light head gear contact. No FACE gear contact in under 17 divisions.
- Safety Equipment:
- Foam dipped head, foot, and head gear only.
- Mouth piece mandatory.
- Groin protectors mandatory for male fighting competitors.
- Combining and Splitting Divisions:
- Promoter reserves the right to combine or split divisions.
- Parents who volunteer to be certified Scorekeepers are allowed First divisions free for first child !
- First Divisions called will be First Timers & Self Defense followed by Weapons, Forms and Sparring, ring assignments will listed here on January 1, 2026
